Fire Service Day of Russia

Firefighter Day in Russia is celebrated annually on April 30. The holiday was established by Decree No. 539 of the President of the Russian Federation on April 30, 1999. The date commemorates April 30, 1649, when Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich signed the "Decree on Urban Decency," laying the foundations for a professional fire department with a permanent, 24-hour duty. It is a professional holiday for firefighters, rescuers, and veterans, recognizing their courage and dedication in the fight against fire.
This day includes celebratory events, award ceremonies, honoring veterans and fallen heroes, and demonstration exercises. Russia's fire service is one of the most vital services, saving tens of thousands of lives and extinguishing over 150,000 fires annually.
